Rousseau: A Visual Companion
Why does it feel so good to walk through a river barefoot? Why are humans born knowing to hold their breath while underwater? The natural world is interwoven into us in ways no person can even begin to comprehend, yet we feel it. Rousseau: A Visual Companion explores our intrinsic connection to nature through photography. Inspired by the work of French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the project focuses on the feeling of nature and our role in it. As we distance ourselves from our ingrained wild roots it is important to shift focus and prioritize time spent in open spaces. Rousseau: A Visual Companion is a culmination of nothing more than walks through the woods and evenings spent fly fishing contemplating Rousseau’s influential words.
Merci, Rousseau.
